2004 Award Recipient
Myrna Williams, '74, '77, was sworn into
office as a Clark County Commissioner on Jan. 4, 1999. Among her many accomplishments are the refurbishing
and rebuilding of six parks in the district, the creation of two new
parks, and the grand opening of the Cambridge Community Outreach Center,
swimming pool, and recreation center. Prior
to serving in the Nevada Assembly (from 1984 to 1994), Commissioner Williams
taught at the UNLV School of Social Work from 1969 to 1980.
Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year Award
An award given to the faculty member who has demonstrated outstanding performance as a faculty member in good standing. Performance in terms of national recognition, publications, teaching, service, etc.
